Oh Christmas, oh Christmas!

19 December '09 by Rebecca, under Rants.

You have robbed me of my money. I am so broke, that I don’t even have a penny to my name. It’s okay though, everything I needed to buy I bought in the beginning of the month. So I shouldn’t be complaining.

Although I have been wanting a certain DVD. I won’t be able to get it until after the holidays. Which is okay, makes things interesting.

What upsets me – which shouldn’t in the first place – is that people seem to forget that the holiday is about giving. Yes, I know. Sounds corny, but it’s the truth. When I witness people complaining about a gift they have received or about what they didn’t receive, I tend to twitch a little in irritation.

Now on a lighter note about Christmas, my daughter can’t keep her hands of the presents.

The Christmas tree is in the living room, so it allows for easy access to it. When she thinks I am not looking, she will sneak under the Christmas tree and shake some of the presents. She forgets that I am only a few feet away from her, and I can hear her giggling from afar. I look towards the sound of her laughing, then have to suppress a grin before shooing her away.

Smart when sneaky, but when she gets giddy, she can’t contain her laughter, and gives herself away.

Makes me laugh every time.

When I was wrapping her presents last night, she watched. She’s 2, so to me it doesn’t matter if she sees it. When she opens it, she will be just as surprised.

That’s besides the point.

My family is doing this Christmas drawing. Athena (my daughter) ended up with my cousins son, Christian. So I got him a toy, wrapped it up in all its glory, then set it aside. Next thing you know, Athena is running towards me with the gift to tell on herself. She made a huge hole in the present, and I had to patch it because I was too lazy to re-wrap it.

But anyway, she does the funniest stuff. <3
